Faculty/Staff Talent Show
Monday, April 20, 2009

Booth Elementary held its "First Annual Faculty/Staff Talent Show" for the second quarter CRT reward celebration. All students that attended had "Tried Their Best on the Test" during 2nd quarter CRT's.  With dramatic skits and lip-synching, the spectacle was indeed full of talent.  The teachers put a lot of effort into the show and it was hilarious!

Most teachers appeared tickled at some of the roles they got to play. "It was a lot of work, and a lot of fun," said Mrs. Bates, a first grade teacher.   Feature performances included: Kindergarten teachers posed as orphans who sang "Tomorrow" and "It's a Hard Knock Life" from the Broadway Musical, Annie; Ms. Wilcox disgusted everyone with her version of a poem called "Booger Love"; First grade teachers and Mrs. Thompson followed the yellow brick road to "If I Only Had a Brain" from The Wizard of Oz; Second grade teachers picked up the beat with a Hip-Hop Stomp Cheer Routine; Third grade teachers and Mrs. Cook imitated an American Idol Audition skit; Fifth grade teachers brought a steady stream of laughs with their stand-up comedy routine; Mrs. Salmons, Mrs. Montgomery, and Mrs. Wilkerson presented a sassy rendition of "Cheetah Love" by The Cheetah Girls; and our grand finale was an astounding display of High School Musical's "We're All in This Together" and "Get'cha Head in the Game" performed by: Mrs. Neil, Ms. Kirkpatrick, Mrs. Parker, Ms. Sumrall, Coach Jones, and Mr. Smith.

Booth students were astonished with the performances, as they behaved marvelously throughout the entire show.  The students really got a kick out of seeing their teachers sing and dance. "I think the students just like seeing us in a different light," Mrs. Steiner in 2nd grade added.  After the show, the students came back to class to vote on their favorite performances.  The 1st place winner took possession of the homemade spirit trophy, while the 2nd and 3rd place winners were awarded certificates.  First place was awarded to the High School Musical performance, second place was awarded to the "Hip-Hop Stomp Routine", and the American Idol skit placed third. The award ceremony was drawn to an end with an encore of the High School Musical routine, as all the students joined in song and dance.

A big thank you to all those who participated as well as those that helped behind the scenes!
